Scott Contracting & Excavating carried out a full environmental remediation on Penticton Indian Band IR#1 at Green Mountain Road, covering three lots.
The scope was the sorting, removal and disposal of approximately 1,239,930 kg, around 3,360 tonnes, of mixed waste and debris. An environmentalist tested every pile, and an incinerator was used on site to reduce the volume going to landfill.
Handling a high volume of unknown waste in a sensitive community and environmental setting called for a disciplined sorting and hauling operation. All material was handled under strict environmental and safety protocols, and the designated lots were cleared and restored to the community.
